About
Catherine Read is the Senior Director of Field & Campaign Strategy at Right to Start, where she built and now leads the organization's first national field infrastructure. Catherine is an experienced organizational leader, advocate, campaigner, and grassroots coalition builder who has worked at the state, federal, and international level. She served as National Director of Partnerships & Community Engagement at Upstream USA, where she positioned North Carolina as a national model for contraceptive access and later guided multi-state strategy to expand reproductive health equity. She is the co-founder of Points True North Consulting, which advises public and nonprofit leaders on building impactful coalitions, advancing policy change, and designing strategic campaigns. Earlier in her career, she directed the Washington offices of two international human rights organizations, Crisis Action and the Center for Victims of Torture. She currently serves on the board of Startup Champions Network and co-chairs the Policy Committee.
